CSC In The News | Press Releases | Public Service Announcements | Radio Spots

On Saturday, February 2, 2008, Cathedral Square Corporation is hosting a Mardi Gras Kick-Off party to celebrate being selected as Backyard Bingo’s newest non-profit sponsor. Cathedral Square Corporation (CSC) is a non-profit organization that owns and manages housing for seniors and individuals with special needs. The net proceeds raised on every Saturday night bingo will be donated to CSC to enhance the quality of CSC’s operations at our 23 properties.

Backyard Bingo has been in business for 18 years, making outstanding financial contributions to the community. Former Backyard Bingo sponsors include ECHO, Kids on the Block, The American Cancer Society and its 2007 sponsors, Green Animal Defenders, Franklin County Humane Society and Frontier Animal Society of Vermont. “We’ve had some very positive impact on these groups,” said Backyard Bingo co-owner Beverly Granger. “Bingo is a really good source of income.” Annual contributions made by Backyard Bingo total thousands of dollars for each of the organization’s three charity sponsors. Nancy Eldridge, Executive Director of Cathedral Square says, “This is such a wonderful opportunity for us. We look forward to partnering with Backyard Bingo and to raise awareness about the need for affordable housing for seniors.”

Backyard Bingo is open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Cash prizes at Backyard Bingo on Saturday nights total more than $1,500! Playing minimum is just $12 for a 12-pack of cards. Purchase of additional cards or participation in ticket games is optional. Players try their luck at 23 bingo games including Straight Bingo, U-Pick-Em, Fast Ball and Bonanza. Backyard Bingo is located at 20 Ewing Place in Essex Junction. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.; games from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. The event on February 2nd is open to the general public. The event will feature a Mardi Gras costume contest, give-aways and refreshments. Please call 878-9447 for reservations, seating is limited.

Cathedral Square Corporation is an award-winning developer, owner and manager of affordable housing including two housing communities in Essex Junction and one under construction in Essex.
