SOUTH BURLINGTON - Senator James Jeffords will be honored Monday, May 22 at 10am during a ceremony celebrating the construction of Farrell Street Senior Housing and Resource Center for providing critical funding to this innovative project. The ceremony will take place at the construction site located at 412 Farrell Street.
The Senator obtained a $250,000 HUD Special Purpose grant for the construction of 63 units of affordable “supportive housing”. He expressed admiration for the nonprofits that have joined together to make this possible: Cathedral Square Corporation, United Way of Chittenden County, HomeShare Vermont and the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. Senator Jeffords understands “Our seniors want more services – in the place they call home. This new community will bring many programs ‘under one roof’ for the benefit of all seniors”.
Farrell Street Senior Housing and Resource Center is located at 412 Farrell Street in South Burlington, just behind Creative Habitat on Shelburne Road.
